This refers to the column ‘Plagiarism’ of Radiance, 24-30 March. Plagiarism is not a new habit among the western people. They have been accustomed to take the works and research of others and get it published in their self-owned so-called authentic magazines with a little change and claim it to be their own research. They have plagiarised many ideas of Muslims and the world knows that these are theirs. For instance, the Theory of Blood Circulation was given by an Egyptian Muslim scientist, Ibne Nafees, in the 13th century and William Harvey plagiarised it in the 17th century. But the world forgot the former and the latter stole the limelight.
However, Professor Noor Afzal’s move to file a police complaint against 27 professors is really a good step. It will surely ring a warning bell to the plagiarists.
