Praveen Swami, who has been spewing venom through his columns in ‘The Hindu’, has found a surprise partner in Maulana Syed Mohammad Ashraf Kachochavi. The Maulana’s stupid harangue in the Sufi Mahapanchayat at Moradabad would even put a notorious anti-Muslim activist like Subramanyam Swamy to shame. His statement that “Wahabi-inspired outfits like Deoband, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind and Ahl-e-Hadees were importing a ‘foreign ideology’ into India and …they are funded by petro-dollars from Saudi Arabia” is a sure recipe to the RSS and Sangh parivar to persist their tirade on the Islamic seminaries and Muslim organizations.
