Rashtriya Ulema Council on October 14 demanded the Government of Uttar Pradesh to take action against Gorakhpur MP and head of Hindu Yuva Vahini Yogi Aditya Nath for spreading hatred against Muslims. Maulana Amir Rashadi Madani, national president Rashtriya Ulema Council, said that the Government of UP is not interested in taking action against those who were intending to spread communal violence in the state. He accused Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav of backing the fascist forces.

Meanwhile, the Council staged a five-day dharna in Lucknow from October 16 to 20 demanding release of all innocents and to stop inhuman acts against them, to stop arresting Muslims on the basis of FIR lodged against unknowns following the agitations in Lucknow on August 17.
