APCR Assures 1000 Bails, Takes Up 1700 Cases to Provide Justice for Victims

APCR, through its activities, has tried to eliminate state of fear from the community. He assured APCR and its team all kinds of support to the noble cause they are doing by providing justice for the victims.

“In the last 18 months, the Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) has assured 1000 bails and parole. Presently APCR is handling 1700 cases to provide justice and relief for the victims and also supporting their families, said Nadeem Khan, who is heading APCR, at a programme organised to recognise and honour the contribution of lawyers helping the cause of APCR with memento as a token of appreciation in the national capitalon March20.

Mr. Khan gave a brief report on APCR in which he described how the organisation has helped people with legal issues, the milestones it has reached, the difficulties it has experienced, and the difficulties it would face while going forward. More than 300 people were released from prison in Delhi alone after the riots within a year.

In its annual report, APCR has highlighted fact-finding reports and documentation on all important issues during October 2020 to February 2023 from eviction to communal violence, Police atrocities, hijab ban, attack on religious places, etc. During this period APCR has conducted more than 100 para legal workshops and more than 250 legal awareness camps, advocacy on some issues especially on police reforms.

Harsh Mandar, Retd. Police officer and noted social and human rights activist, while praising the services of APCR, said, fighting against injustice is the responsibility not only of Muslims but of all citizens of the country who want to preserve our Constitution and Democracy. India is passing through the most difficult situation since Independence and people should come forward to fight for injustice happening to Muslims, Dalits, Christians and marginalised sections.

Amanatullah Khan, the Jamia Nagar Legislator and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, who attended the programme, lauded the work of APCR and pledged his full assistance. He emphasised that today’s Muslim Ummah needs competent and good journalists and lawyers more than doctors and engineers. He categorically said that only lawyers and journalists can bring the community out of the atmosphere of fear.

Supreme Court Advocate Fuzail Ayyubi, Saadat Ali, Tara Narola, Priya Vets, Deeksha Divedi, Tamanna Pankaj, Najamus Saqib, Sagheer and Saleem Qureshi shared their experiences of fighting cases.
