Akhlaq Ahmad, Coordinator Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR), in a press statement, said on 16 May that APCR has provided Rs 50000 financial support for the marriage of a hapless girl, resident of Madhubani in Bihar on humanitarian grounds. The only earning brother of the girl, Kamal Hassan was arrested in April 2012 and is now languishing in Tihar jail. Her father is working in a shop in Delhi. APCR is also providing legal help for the family. Advocate Mehmood Pracha (Sr Advocate, Supreme Court of India) is fighting his case in Delhi and Bangalore.
