The Lokayukta police on August 6 submitted its report in connection with the Rs 100 crore Sugni Devi land scam before a special court here, but the petitioner objected exclusion of state Industry Minister Kailash Vijayvargya’s name in the report, Lokayukta sources said. The report, which was submitted after four months’ investigation to Special Judge S K Raghuvanshi, included the names of 17 people, including legislator and the then Mayor-in-Council member Ramesh Mendola, industrialists Manish Sanghvi, Nagin Kothari, Vijay Kothari and 13 officials of municipal corporation . An FIR has been registered against them under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and Indian Penal Code, Section 120 (B). The petitioner and senior Congress leader Suresh Seth said since Mr Vijayvargiya was given a clean chit and he was not made an accused in the case, he filed an objection case in the court.
