If the Chief Election Commissioner Mr. N. Gopalaswami had indeed seen biased conduct in his colleague Navin Chawla – what prevented him to wait till the very end – when the mantle of CEC would fall on the latter in about three months from now and when the process for the general elections is about to kick start? Amusingly, his own words: “Election Commissioners should be above suspicion like Caesar’s wife” ricochet on him. As the one who served as L.K. Advani’s home secretary during NDA rule, it is doubtful if he is not listening to ‘His Master’s Voice’.
