The Congress government in Telangana has successfully mediated peace between the Gond Tribals and the Muslim community in KomaramBheemAsifabad district’s Jainoor, which witnessed communal clashes early this month.

Panchayat Raj Minister AnasuyaSeethakkaDansari and Khanapur MLA VedemaBhojju, both the tribal leaders, met with Advisor to Telangana Government (SC, ST, OBC& Minorities) Mohammed Ali Shabbir on September 23 to discuss future strategies. They briefed him on their meetings with Gond Tribal leaders in Utnoor and Jainoor, which aimed to understand the root causes of the recent unrest. Both leaders worked to restore Muslim-Tribal relations, which had been peaceful for decades before the recent tensions.

Though the police registered multiple cases related to the clashes, the Congress leadership focused on a long-term solution. Separate discussions were held with leaders from both the tribal and Muslim communities. Their efforts led both communities to agree to resolve their differences peacefully.

Mohammed Ali Shabbir said a meeting with Muslim leaders from Jainoor and surrounding areas would be held soon to understand the causes of the conflict. The aim is to find lasting solutions. After separate discussions, a joint meeting will be held to promote mutual understanding, followed by a meeting with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Minister Seethakka and MLA Bhojju have already submitted a report to the Chief Minister regarding the violence. Their meeting with Shabbir focused on devising and implementing a future action plan.

While the state government decided to compensate those who lost property during the riots and the police initiated legal action, Shabbir emphasized that these measures alone are not enough.
