Rajkumar Soni, father of the deceased Rahul (19-year-old), who disappeared last year, filed an RTI application and has exposed a huge racket of selling unidentified bodies, run by the police.  Rajkumar was led on a wild goose chase from police stations to cremation grounds before he found that his son Rahul’s body was allegedly sold off to the Tantia Medical College in Ganganagar by the Ganganagar police.  Rahul died on May 26 last year under mysterious circumstances. The same day the police gave away the body to a local private medical college for research without notifying in any newspapers or making any other efforts to identify the body as per law. Soni said, “I went to the emergency ward to know that there was a young boy admitted there. But I could not find him. I reached to the cremation ground after the cremation was done. After filing an application under the RTI, the medical college authorities revealed it to me off the record that they bought the body for Rs seven lakhs. They are willing to pay any high price for a dead body of a young boy,” the father lamented.
