With former Minister of State for Home Amit Shah of Gujarat behind the bars for masterminding the staged killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, his wife Kauserbi and lone witness in the case Tulsi Prajapati, as well as with senior Congress leader Sajjan Kumar facing criminal charges for his active involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, the question has once again come to fore: how to cleanse politics? Government machinery as well as the large segments of masses have to play their respective roles in this respect. Election Commission has to implement stricter regulations to ensure that no person with criminal record enters the domain of politics. The voters should also raise themselves from caste or party lines and cast their valuable votes only for the candidates having clean image, sense of service to society, and above all concern for communal amity in society.
