According to the organisation’s Assistant Secretary-General Hamad Al-Ammari, speakers at FIKR 9 will include experts in the fields of sociology, economics and geopolitics from various public and private sectors and nongovernment organisations. “Choosing the speakers was done according to very high and strict standards determined by the forum’s working team,” said Al-Ammari. The forum will explore the Arab world’s future in the face of increased globalisation in the context of innovation and entrepreneurship. The opening ceremony speech will be given by Oman’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah. Among other speakers are: the director of the Global Governance Initiative and author of “The Second World: Empires and Influence in the New Global Order,” Barag Khanna, who will address the geopolitical changes in the world; and Ahmed Nassef, the VP and managing director of Yahoo!
