HWF Transforms Lives of Marginalised Students and Orphans

Human Welfare Foundation (HWF) under Vision 26 programme awarded scholarships with cheques to 140 meritorious students from weaker and marginalised sections and orphans to transform their lives and in return to contribute to the society, community and nation building at a programme held at the India Islamic Cultural Centre, New Delhi on March 18.

In his presidential address, Siraj Hussain, HWF chairman (Retd. IAS) said there may be some shortcomings in our present educational system which promotes rote learning but it is true that with this very system India has produced great scientists, Nobel Laureates, CEOs of world’s topmost companies.

Mr. Hussain asked the students not to be misguided that degrees have no importance. He said so while reacting to a motivational talk delivered by Sameer Ahmed Siddiqui, wherein he said there are 17 topmost companies that don’t want your degrees but only your talent that will guarantee jobs. The HWF Chairman also asked the students to get the best of education from best universities.

Arif Ali, chairman of Vision 26, in his concluding remarks, while highlighting the conceptualisation of Vision 16 in the aftermath of the challenges put forward before the community by Sachar Committee Report which has now been transformed into Vision 26, said, the students who have been awarded have moral responsibility to work for society, community and contribute to nation building after they became successful in their careers. He also asked the students to help or support at least 10 students as a social responsibility after they become successful.

Prof. Afshar Alam, VC Jamia Hamdard, asked the students to opt for the best existing universities and explore many new courses in various fields.

Dr S. Farooq, President Himalayan Drug Company, called upon students to think of innovative ideas after getting degrees because only innovative ideas in any field ensures success.

Shahid Siddiqui, Ex-MP and senior journalist, while emphasising quality education, asked the students to be the best. According to him, hard work and commitment will make Muslims best not only in India but in the entire world one day. He also stressed on the need of establishing smart classes in madrasas and schools to ensure quality education, which is the only way forward.

Rahamathunnissa A., Chairperson of The Women Education and Empowerment Trust (TWEET), talked of 3D formula of success where she asked the students to Dream, Dare and Dedicate in order to become successful.

Noufal PK, CEO In-charge at HWF, in his introductory remark, highlighted the goals and achievements of the Foundation.

Earlier,while delivering a motivational talk, Sameer Ahmed Siddiqui, IAS coach, asked the students not only to learn but also think over what they learn and apply it through creativity and by thinking out of the box to become successful in the fast-changing scenario in the age of Artificial Intelligence   and ChatGPT.

Rizwan Rafiqui, Director PRO, informed that out of total 253 selected students 140 students were awarded scholarships of `30, 25 and 15 thousand. Some students could not reach because of exams and other engagements. Total 700 students will be awarded this year across India.
