Senior police inspector, Ramesh Mahale, who was also the Chief Investigating Officer in the worst terror attack on the country, 26/11, has been learnt to seek Voluntary Retirement and moved an application for the same. Confirming the news, senior police officers of Mumbai Police, on 26 February, said the move was prompted by “certain differences with senior officers” in the department, especially over an issue related to the murder of Shuresh Bhagat alias Matka King. Mr. Mahale was investigating officer in the case. Earlier, Mahale probed into several cases like J Day Murder case, Azad Maidan Riots in Mumbai and SK Lohriya murder case et al.
