Mr Nusrat Ali, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) strongly condemned the violence and vandalism in Orissa that is still going on and demanded the government to immediately stop violence and ascertain peace and amity in the region.
In a statement issued on August 28, the JIH leader, condemning the violence against Christian community and its churches, said, “The act of killing innocent children and women or persons, burning places of worship, orphanage houses and properties showed the terrorist and unlawful mentality, so it is the responsibility of government to end this mentality, besides, no one or group should be allowed to create law and order situation.”
Mr Nusrat Ali urged the government to capture real culprit behind the killing of a Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s leader, which erupted violence in Orissa and also urged to probe into the entire episode through a high-level investigation agency to bring culprits to justice.
He expressed sympathies and solidarity with the families of victims and hoped the government to immediately restore peace and provide compensations for the affected persons.
