Mentioning Gopalgarh riots and other recent communal riots in the country, Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind has demanded strict actions against the perpetrators of violence. Attacks on the Muslim minority by members of Bajrang Dal, burning of their houses and instilling terror in the minds of Muslims are some of the issues that have been mentioned in a letter written to the Home Minister and the State governments by Maulana Mahmood Madni, General Secretary, Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind. Citing reference of the report by Maulana Abdul Wahid, General Secretary, Jamiat-e-Ulema Rajasthan, he wrote that the person responsible for the riots in Meda village is Inder Singh Rajpurohit, member of Bajrang Dal, and on a regular basis he had tried to instigate violence in the past, which forced many Muslims to leave their home and migrate to other places. Maulana Madni demanded prosecution against Rajpurohit under National Security Act.
