The Delhi Wakf Board on July 25 informed the High Court that the DDA had allotted an alternative site to the Noor Masjid Committee to build a mosque in place of the one demolished by the housing agency a year ago in Jungpura. The mosque was demolished on court orders. Justice Rajiv Shakhder dismissed of a contempt petition filed by Jungpura Residents’ Welfare Association against the Noor Masjid Committee, accusing them of flouting court orders by not removing articles such as wooden platforms from the site and by physically occupying the site. Appearing for the Waqf Board, advocate Mehmood Pracha told court that incidents of persons occupying the site would be stopped and the articles would be removed.
Jangpura Mosque: Dda Hands Wakf Another Site
