It is in fact a dream project of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind – Chennai Metro Division. With this inauguration a much-awaited Islamic College for Girls by the residents of Chennai Metropolitan City came into reality.

The Hidhaaya Islamic College for Girls offers Aalima Course, State Board Higher Secondary School Education and Certified Diploma Courses in (i) Computer Application (ii) DTP, and (iii) Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in three years duration.Admissions are open now.  Applicants who have passed 10th State Board School Examination and who know the basic recitation of the Holy Qur’ān are eligible for admission into this college.

The Inaugural Function started with the beautiful recitation of the Qur’ān by GIO applicant Sr. Amina followed by a welcome address by the college correspondent Mrs. Rabia Basri, who enlightened the purpose and importance of opening a Girls Islamic College in Chennai.

The college’s main focus is on three characteristics:

The first is the quality of education. The intellectual quality of an institution depends on the quality of mind, classroom inventiveness, and dedicated teachers. To develop these qualities, the college administration will occasionally conduct workshops for teachers.

The second quality is the importance of connectedness to other intellectual resources. The college administration wants to benefit from other resources, and in the future, it wants to develop the college as a source of resources for other institutions.

The third quality is that education is an intensely moral enterprise that depends on clear ethical rules. The college wants to instil in the students the habit of not only learning but also implementing what they learn.

The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Chennai Division, Nazeer Ataullah, during his introductory address, informed the audience about the process and procedure that his team went through in formulating its syllabus and selection of Teaching Staff, keeping in view the kind of students that this college is longing to produce and the challenges it faced in establishing the college.
