The Department of “Khidmat-e-Khalq” (service to humanity) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s Nanpara unit organised a programme on Dec. 7, 2011 at Nanpara’s Huma Montessori School to distribute quilts to the poor and needy of the area, including widows and labourers. The programme started off with the recitation and translation of the Holy Qur’ān by Mr. Fakhruddin Khan. Later Mr. Asupyar Beg gave a brief introduction of the welfare activities of the Jamaat.
Mr. Indra Bhushan Verma, SDM of Nanpara Tehseel was present at the programme and handed over the quilts to the needy. The local unit of the Jamaat presented the translation of the Qur’ān to the SDM along with many other Islamic books. He became happy with the activities of the Jamaat and praised the efforts undertaken by it. The programme ended with the supplication of the local Ameer of the Jamaat. Rashid Beg was the compeer of the programme, which was attended by many dignitaries of Jamaat, along with members of SIO (Students Islamic Organisation of India).
