The Legislative Assembly of Bihar, on 18 February, echoed with the stormy sounds of Assembly Members demanding ban on alcoholic drinks in the state. As the house started working the MLAs from Rashtriya Janata Dal shouted slogans to protest against the increasing crime against women and pressed their demand for a complete ban on the sale and purchase of alcoholic drinks in the state. They were demanding to take the issue in the running Budget session.

“The issue of liquor sale should be raised in this budget session and it should be put under prohibition Order,” said Dinesh Kumar Singh, the MLA from Jagdishpur. Meanwhile, State Health Minister Ashwini Chaubey said that the government is taking adequate steps in this regard with an aim to put a complete ban on liquor.
