Fatima Academy and Step Education Society jointly organised a religious programme in Lal Kuan, Old Delhi. The programme was organised to address the crucial issue of declining value system in the society and emphasis was given on increasing immorality, adultery and intoxication among youths. In his presidential speech, Mr. Aslam Parwez, principal Zakir Husain College, pointed out the deteriorating condition of the Muslim society. He further added that these days we do not find the environment in the Muslim societies which we witnessed in our childhood. He said vulgarity, which started with T.V., has now found ways through internet, mobile and other new technologies. Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui, president of Jamiat Shah Waliullah, was the chief guest. While talking of the increased immorality, he said perverted values have conquered the minds of Muslims and in order to counter this relentless attack we must go back to the Qur’ān. While blaming the Muslims for this sorry state of the society, he added that because of this perverted mentality Muslims are considering humiliation and ignominy as honour and dignity. He said it is only by following the injunctions and commandments given by Allah in the Holy Qur’ān, one can excel, both in this world and the hereafter.
