Millat Bedari Muhim Committee (MBMC) Aligarh and The Aligarh Movement Magazine Jointly held a memorial meeting on 134th birth anniversary of Sir Allama Mohammad Iqbal under chairmanship of Prof. Razaullah Khan at Media Centre, Aligarh.
Delivering the welcome address, Editor of the Aligarh Movement Magazine, Jasim Mohammad said that philosophy and thoughts of Allama Iqbal were totally based on Islamic injunctions but they were not limited to any region or religion. In fact, Iqbal’s message was for all mankind, if we hold fast to his message in our lives then this world will be more peaceful. He said it is unfortunate to see Iqbal being ignored in Urdu syllabus. It is a matter of pain and concern. President of Al-Basar Foundation, Dr. Moiz Shams said the literature and poetry which Allama Iqbal has left behind has not been given by any other Urdu poet. Eminent physician Dr. S. Moin Raza said Iqbal has made very important place for him in the history of freedom struggle by penning “Saa’re Jahaan se achchha Hindustaan Hamaara”.
