Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan, President All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat, claimed the current quota crisis as government’s own handiwork. He said earlier government did not announce it with proper planning and later Andhra Pradesh High Court defied it. He further said there is absolutely no need for Muslim organisations to move the court in this regard and they must demand the implementation of recommendations made by the Ranganath Misra Commission according to which there should be 15 per cent reservation for minorities and out of this 10 per cent would be reserved for Muslims alone, belonging to weaker sections of the community. The gift of 4.5 per cent reservation is in fact a game of Congress to break the different OBC groups in order to gain political advantage.
