It must be admitted that two Indias exist within India, one is the shining India, which is sending shivers down the spine of many rising global economies, and the other one, still in utter destitution and misery and yearning for the most basic amenities. This dichotomy has become an integral part of our country and Rampur district is fitting exactly in the latter category.

The whole district has no supply of drinking water, even though there are a total of 26 overhead tanks and tube wells. The drains are clogged with filth, hence are supporting in the proliferation of mosquitoes. Erratic electricity is also adding on to the woes of the people. Crime cases have also sprung up in the area and murders, dowry deaths, rape and kidnapping have become the order of the day. The poor are yet to receive the facilities which the government has made exclusively for them, as it is rich and people with decent income who are taking the advantages of the government schemes, leaving literally nothing for the poor. Till now nothing concrete has been done from the government side to alleviate the people from this misery.
