Renowned journalist and social activist, AshishKhetan, has recently filed a Public Interest Litigation with Allahabad High Court over alleged custodial killing of Khalid Mujahid and appealed to the court to institute an independent inquiry into the dual bomb blasts of Varanasi in March 2006, triple blast in Gorakhpur in March 2007, blast in Sharamjivi Express in July 2005 and serial blasts in the court premises of Varanasi, Faizabad and Lucknow.
Mr.Khetan in his PIL alleged that he, in his investigative journalistic report, found that the police have deliberately implicated innocent Muslim youths in these cases of blasts. The journalist has also filed a PIL with Bombay High Court alleging that the Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad had paid locals to become their approver in different cases. Meanwhile, All India TanzeemeInsaf, on 17 June, organised a national seminar on illegal detention of Muslim youth in Nanded, Maharashtra.
