A high-level delegation of all Muslim organisations met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on October 15 to discuss the issues related to Muslim community like illegal arrest of Muslim youths, Assam imbroglio and educational and social condition of Muslims in India. The Prime Minister assured the delegation to take up all the issues especially the issue of illegal arrest of Muslim youths and provide them security so that they could lead a normal life.
The delegation also demanded to impose a heavy fine on Google for constantly publishing Islamophobic material. It also demanded to help enact an international law to prevent hurting the sentiments of any community in the name of freedom of expression. “Though the Prime Minister is a serious and thinking person, he would not fulfil our demands as his previous records show,” said Maulana Mahmood Madani. The delegation consisted of representatives from Jamiat-Ulama-i-Hind, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Delhi Minority Commission, etc.
