A team of senior engineering students from Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) visited Ghazlan Power Plant, Phase II, as part of the requirements for a senior course in “Power Generation.” Ghazlan Power Plant, Phase II, is an advanced power plant in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Emad Tanbour from the Mechanical Engineering Department at PMU led the students in this one-day trip. A senior PMU student, Mr. Abdullah Al-Jubran facilitated this visit. He is Deputy Operations Manager in this plant. This one-day tour was a learning experience for these senior students to know real-world application of mechanical engineering for which they are trained.
It was a good opportunity for PMU students to explore practicalities of their subjects of study. They learnt plant components and their operation in the visit. These students received experience in state-of-the-art power generation resources.
