A group of concerned citizens on April 20 held an impromptu demonstration outside the Times of India office in Mumbai, strongly condemning the publication of the FIR copy of the victim of gang rape of a TISS (Tata Institute of Social Sciences) student in its Mumbai Mirror edition of April 17 on page 2.
The concerned citizens were demanding the immediate arrest of the Mumbai Mirror Editor, Ms Meenal Baghel, its reporter Deeptiman Tiwary and its publisher. The Police personnel present there informed the protestors that an FIR was filed against the Editor on April 18. But no action has been initiated against her so far.
The protestors burned copies of April 17 issue of Mumbai Mirror and shouted slogans demanding the arrest of the Editor and also demanding a public apology to be printed on its front page for this blunder.
