Experts train youth to defend themselves from sudden calamities

A workshop was organised by the Society for Bright Future (SBF) at Don Bosco Institute in the Sukhdev Vihar area of the National Capital to train the youth to deal with disasters. On this occasion, officers and experts from the disaster department enlightened the youth about how to deal with disasters.

The programme began with the opening remarks of Irfan Ahmed, SBF National Coordinator. Throwing light on the aims and objectives of the programme, he said that since its inception, SBF has been preparing such youth around the country who not only strive to save mankind during natural catastrophes but also manage rehabilitation for those impacted.

What are the disasters and what are the techniques of prevention and how can quick medical aid be provided for the affected people?

Suresh Kumar, associated with the Civil Defence Department of New Delhi, elaborated on all of these topics. He demonstrated to the attendees, using real experiences from the course, how they might defend themselves from sudden calamities by executing several crucial things instantly and with little effort on such an occasion, as well as helping others. Kumar praised the SBF, saying that it provides selfless service to humanity with total integrity. He encouraged the participants to serve humanity by becoming SBF volunteers.

Firoz Khan, Station Officer at Delhi Fire Service, highlighted the types of fire and their prevention methods. He described several significant methods for controlling fire. Along with this, he introduced the equipment required for fire protection and demonstrated when and how to utilise it through first-hand experience. Students at the programme expressed an interest in these devices and tested them.

Meanwhile, S. Ameenul Hasan, the country’s foremost psychologist and Vice President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, used a PowerPoint presentation to explain an important topic, Prospective of Social Service in the Field of Humanitarian Relief. In light of the Qur’an and Sunnah, he spoke about how service to humanity is done with complete honesty and without the purpose of gaining fame.

Vice President of Wrestling Federation of India Zubaidur Rehman Khan and Director of Casta Group M.S. Zoha, speaking as Special Guests, encouraged the participants by awarding certificates. The guests who participated in the workshop were greeted with mementos.

Dr. Aamir Jamal, SBF Volunteer Coordinator, Zahid Afzal and Mohammad Marghoob, SBF Public Relations Officers, all contributed significantly to the workshop’s success.
