Six Muslims have been conferred with Padam Shree and Padam Bhushan Awards for their outstanding contribution to their different professions on the occasion of the 59th Republic Day on January 26. Padam Shree and Padam Bhushan Awards are the country’s most prestigious awards distributed every year among some eminent Indian personalities for their significant role in the field of education, industry, literature, science and sports in the country. Asad Ali Khan for Art (Delhi), Mian Shabbir Ahmed for Social Affairs and Relationship (Jammu and Kashmir) and Doctor Rahim Fahimuddin for Art (Delhi) were awarded Padam Bhushan Award. While Professor K.S. Nisar Ahmed for Literature and Education (Karnataka), Mohd Yousuf Tang for Literature and Education (Jammu and Kashmir) and Haji Kalimullah Khan for Mango Plantation and Grafting, Uttar Pradesh got Padam Shree Awards.
