Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Syed Jalaluddin Omari has expressed resentment over the killing of 75 police personnel by the Maoists in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, on April 6.
In a statement the JIH chief said that for the last two decades there has been a massive increase in the Maoist activities and the Central Government as well as the State Governments have been unable to tackle the situation.
He further said the activity of Maoists is condemnable and it needs to be nipped strategically. The government should also find out the reasons which compel the people to choose the path of annihilation. The government should also analyse the plea of Adivasi people as they claim to have been meted out extreme discrimination, by losing their lands, forests, minerals, etc. In fact, even after more than six decades of independence, there is no major change in their pitiable condition. The Ameer also urged the Maoist leaders to ponder over the issue of grave concern, as violence is not a solution to any dispute. He advised both the government and the Maoists to sort out their disputes through negotiation.
