Studies in Lucknow are once again hit as the PAC finds its boarding place in schools. Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) is a mobile armed reserve force consisting of 250 to 700 persons maintained at key locations in some states of India. They assist the police in maintaining law and order during fairs, festivals, athletic events, elections, and natural disasters. This year again the PAC consisting of almost two dozen battalions has been called into the Old Lucknow, keeping in mind the upcoming religious programmes and festival. The administration this year again finds it easy to halt the studies in schools for a considerable number of days and to use the schools as the places of stay for the PAC men. Some of the schools in Old Lucknow will remain occupied by the PAC men till September 11 hence the students will have no choice but to sit at home till then. Last year many educational institutions protested against this move. The Principal, Aminabad Inter College Mr. J. P. Mishra has said that this move can be dangerous, and that education comes at number two priority for the state administration.
