A group of tribals carrying bows and arrows and accompanied by Bharatiya Janta Party MLA Dilip Kumar Jaiswal on December 9 started performing Puja Hawan on the land allotted to the Aligarh Muslim University to open its off-campus branch in Kisanganj district of Bihar. District Authority rushed to the site and arrested four persons, including the two leaders of the tribals namely Madhav Tripathi and Ajay Singh, for disturbing peace in the area.
Bihar has recently handed over 224 acres land under Chakla panchayat of Kisanganj district for the proposed campus of AMU in Bihar. But the tribals alleged that the land was given to them under Bandobast scheme earlier and had been wrongfully acquired.
