Two innocent citizens were mowed down by a spoilt brat of a rich father, in Pune. The 17-year-old, obviously under the influence of alcohol, brought the immediate end of two unsuspecting victims.
The accused was arrested and immediately given bail, exposing our lax legal system. Just because he was the son of a prominent builder of the city, the law was flexed for him, and he was given immediate bail, though the crime was of a very heinous nature. Had it been that the accused would belong to a middle class or a poor man, would the police have acted the way they acted for this privileged 17-year-old.
The boy’s rich father did not mind his son’s extravaganza, as this was a way to flaunt their wealth. The father does not mind if his son is throwing away parties to his friends, accompanied by alcohol consumption. He is also carefree about his high-end car, unregistered, to be driven by his son who does not yet possess a valid license. This shows the apathy of the rich towards the laws.
Then the proprietors of the restaurant, who are just interested in business, serving liquor to minors, throwing the rules out of the window. They too are culpable in this homicide. And now rightly have been arrested and their license cancelled.
And the partiality of the keepers of law, which encourages such incidents. They have sprung into action, when protests took place and the deputy CM intervened.
But there are hundreds of incidents taking place in our country where the rich and influential get away, knowing well that they have the means to wriggle out of any situation.
Many innocent lives lost, and will continue, due to this corrupt system of ours. The problem is, that our legal system gets into motion after the tragic deaths of many, and after a hue and cry from the public.
Why not before?

Citizenship Prior to Election
The Union Government has granted Indian Citizenship to as many as 300 Pakistani Hindu Nationals recently under the CAA. The action of the government is to influence the voters and to strengthen its vote bank. It is a violation of the election code of conduct.
Mr. P.K. Kunhalikutty, an honourable M.P. & General Secy. of Indian Union Muslim League, is perfectly right when he says that this is an election gimmick. I, Farooq AbdulgaffarBawani, whole-heartedly support him for exposing the malicious intention of the present dispensation, which is rabidly an anti-Muslim.
Will the Hon’ble ECI and Hon’ble SCI take suo-moto actions?
