Until the early hours of last Wednesday morning, doubts, even concerns, were in the minds of Republicans inside America. This was due to the opinion polls which were heralding a tall victory for Democrat Kamala Harris, and a clear defeat for Republican candidate Donald Trump.
The matter was settled, and Donald J Trump had a landslide victory and reaped more than expected. He became the 47th president of the United States, achieving a victory described by the Wall Street Journal as one which will remain in the memory of Americans for a long time.
There is no exaggeration in describing Trump as a man of strong determination, as evidenced in his political experience since he entered the race for the presidency in 2016, as a stranger to the American political establishment.
In moments of weakness, Trump appeared strong and unbreakable. He had the reins of courage and knew how to avoid feelings of despair. He even considered the worst times he had ever experienced a launching pad which lifted him above the clouds of Washington once again.
Did Trump’s victory come as a result of the wisdom and shrewdness of his election campaign, or for reasons related to the failures of Harris’ campaign on the one hand, and the conditions of Americans at home on the second hand?
Last Tuesday’s vote seemed like a “punishment vote” for an administration which wasted several billion dollars supporting Ukraine, with the aim of destabilising the Tsar, while the streets of major American cities are crowded with the destitute, the marginalised, and refugees.
The results showed that the Democratic Party is internally confused, even divided within itself. The sight of Jill Biden wearing a red suit on her way to the polls is enough, as if she hopes to defeat Harris, in revenge against the party cadres, particularly the “planner” Barack Obama, and his powerful arm Nancy Pelosi, who forced Biden to withdraw. The narrator says that he saw Biden smiling from behind the curtain of his Oval Office, after the official results appeared.
The Americans have proven that they are smart and have a good ability to choose wisely who will lead the country, after the Democrats drowned it in internal conflicts and conspiracies against Trump, without providing successful recipes to revive the forces of the working people.
On the Republican side, many efforts combined to win Trump, most notably the public’s belief that he is the man of the hour, capable of confronting and confronting international calamities.
In light of that, the Republicans learned from the lesson of the 2020 elections, and for this reason they developed strategic electoral plans which push millions of supporters to move and vote.
Perhaps it goes without saying that the Republicans’ success has gone beyond the presidency to the Senate and the House of Representatives. It means that a red cloud has already covered the skies of Washington for at least two years before the midterm elections in 2026.
It is no secret that the man’s mouth is filled with bitterness. In light of such Republican dominance, perhaps the path of retribution and accountability, revenge and retaliation is the easiest, while forgiveness and transcendence, tolerance and reconciliation are the most difficult.
What path will Trump take? And who will whisper in his ears in his new term? Wait for the situation to reply to these questions.
