Dr. Kamal Husain, CEO, Sunni Central Wakf Board, claimed the rights of wakf over Taj Mahal and said the Taj Mahal is a wakf property and wakf should get a part of revenue generated from it. He said like the Taj Mahal, there are many forts and tombs which are wakf properties and they generate revenue worth crores of rupees, however the wakf does not get anything from it. “If wakf gets revenue from them then tourism would flourish more,” he said. Adding to it, he said that the mapping of the properties of the wakf would be done and it would look out for the possibility to construct a university on the wakf lands.
