There are in the air high-sounding claims of civilizational revolution and reaching the goal of five trillion economy. But on the ground reality there is moral degradation, all out corruption in every sphere of national life, from top to bottom. One more dangerous thing is hate wave after hate wave, and communal poison being dished out.

Go through the comments of readers and viewers in social media, you would be surprised that the fascist and communal elements have spoiled and poisoned a very large section of society. We cannot imagine where this communal and poisonous mentality will take our nation to. It appears that such large amounts of hate, suspicion, mistrust and fear have been created between person and person, community and community that the prevailing hate may undo all our progress. And, it may hamper our future progress also.

It is certainly frustrating that the communal minded leaders are preparing the common people to spring at each other at the slightest provocation. Take the case of Yati Narsinghanand, a small statured mahant of a temple in Dasna near Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. His policy seems to be constant efforts to create misunderstandings in the minds of our Hindu brethren against Muslims. He is famous for hatemongering and abusing Islam, Muslims and our most respected and venerated Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who was sent as the Last Prophet for the entire humanity. Yati has been consistently spewing extremely obnoxious and poisonous abuses against the Great Prophet.

It appears that the Uttar Pradesh government deliberately wants Narsinghanand to be always engaged in his favourite pastime of spewing communal poison. In the past, little action has been taken against him to put a brake on his abusive statements against the Prophet, Holy Quran and the Muslim community. Several FIRs have been lodged against him. Only once he had to face a judge in a court of law. Immediately he was granted bail on the condition that he would restrain himself and would not issue a communal statement amounting to denigration of the Respected Prophet.

In spite of his conditional bail, he did burst again. Thus, he crossed all redlines and abused Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the most derogatory words. It was intolerable for the Muslims. There were widespread protests in Ghazipur, Bulandshahr, Meerut and several towns and cities in Uttar Pradesh.

The abusive words he used were highly derogatory and hate-filled. The protests spread into many other States. FIRs were lodged in several States like UP, Delhi, Telangana, Maharashtra, etc. Up to now he has been just detained and no concrete action has been taken against him. Reports indicate that Yati has been just detained but not arrested. The question is: Does it behove us the civilized people of the most populated nation?

All these abuses are in public domain and have gone viral. It is unfortunate that the administration does not want to act against him. The situation is very unfortunate. The government policy has emboldened the irreparable communal elements as they feel assured that the long hands of justice will not reach the necks of culprits.

We want to know the meaning of SabkaSaath, Sabka Vikas. We feel constrained to ask: Do the powers that be, who are constantly losing popular support, want to end their days by refusing to mend their ways? Do they want to harm the good name of the country and defame it in the civilized world?
