President Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has expressed his strong displeasure over the passing of so-called ‘Parental Responsibility Bill’ by the lower house of Tajikistan and demanded the government of the Muslim-populated country to immediately retract this unjust, anti-religious and irrational bill.
Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, President of Jamaat, in a statement on June 21, expressing his grief and surprise, said, “When the majority of the world is now turning towards religion after rejecting materialism and atheism, and Tajikistan itself has witnessed the aftermath of the Soviet Union’s anti-religion policies. In spite of these facts, the Tajik government is plotting against the will of its religious people by adopting such a cruel ‘Parental Bill’ to keep their children from places of worship.” It should refrain from doing so, he further said.
Maulana Umari cautioned Tajikistan that the government is not only committing a big sin but also pushing the new generation towards atheistic and anti-religious atmosphere by cutting their relations with Mosques. Grown-up with such an anti-religious culture, new generations would be free from the feelings of creating and serving the humanity and the country, which would be problematic for the country, he added.
Maulana Umari called upon the Tajik government to give proof of its loyalty towards the country by withdrawing the so-called ‘Parental bill.’
