Delhi police have arrested a Banaras Hindu University student, named Vishal, for hoax call. Vishal rang up the police control number and claimed that he had placed a bomb in the Jama Masjid, New Delhi, which might burst at 11 p.m. The accused, 22, belongs to Muzaffar Nagar of Uttar Pradesh. Officials at the mosque informed that the boy was seen roaming in the Mosque premises during the day and even seen mauling women. The police have arrested the accused and interrogating him trying to know his intentions. The accused in the interrogation accepted that he was sent by his guruji to place the bomb in the mosque because the Shahi Imām of Jama Masjid only speaks about the Muslims’ rights and never speaks about Ram mandir or Ram janmbhoomi. The accused accepted that he did so to teach him a lesson. Mosque authorities have written a letter to the Union Home Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram demanding adequate security check-up in the historical mosque.
