There is no Islamic taker to the view expressed by the French President Mr. Sarkozy that the burqa is unquestionably an oppressive garment that seeks to keep those who wear it imprisoned “behind a screen”. In fact the burqa protects a woman and gives her a place of dignity. There are reasons to believe that the Westerners are so ashamed of their cultural decay that they don’t want to be reminded about it by the appearance of the burqa clad women. It seems that their guilty feelings make them try eradicate good things that come in their way. The legislation approved by the French National Assembly to ban the burqa is not likely to be passed in its Parliament and okayed by its Constitutional Council as the ban is against Human Rights and Constitutional provisions of every country including France.
