Right after the Mumbai blasts and the suspension of Mr. Vastanvi, some evil elements of the society have sprung up once again to malign one of the most sought after Islamic Educational Institutions in India, Darul-Uloom Deoband. Charges are that Darul-Uloom is associated with the ideology of Pakistan and Afghan Taliban. Some sections of media have even said that there was a lot of pressure from Pakistan for sacking Mr. Vastanvi. There are some news portals which say that an e-mail has been received from an organisation named Tehreek-e-Taliban Hindustan, inciting the youth to struggle against the country. These false allegations and association with such fake organisations have made the people of Deoband worried, although it was the Darul-Uloom which first stood and raised its voice against terrorism and unjust killings of innocent human beings. Maulana Abdul Khaliq Madrasi, Vice Rector of Darul-Uloom has refuted all the allegations and has called them baseless, and said that Islam emphasises fostering unity and brotherhood and it should not be linked with such preposterous lies.
