Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) conducted demonstrations at Chennai as well as in all state headquarters in Tamilnadu on Dec 6, the 19th Anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid. Thousands of men and women participated in the demonstration held throughout the state.  Speaking on the occasion at Chennai, MLA and TMMK President Prof. M.H. Jawahirullah said, “Demolition of Babri Masjid on Dec 6, 1992 is a shame to the secular fabric of this nation and a heinous crime on humanity by national and universal standards.

“It is highly distressing to note that certain Members of Parliament and later central ministers and Chief Ministers who are supposed to safeguard the Constitution were involved in this heinous crime and thereby putting the people believing in the Values emerging from India’s Freedom struggle to hang their heads in shame. Demolition of Babri Masjid in full public view is the greatest terrorist act in Independent India,” Prof. Jawahirullah said.

Paying great respect to the judiciary TMMK demanded speedy hearing and judgement of the case relating to the title suit of Babri Masjid, and immediate proceeding of action against the 68 accused implicated by Liberhan Commission.

A memorandum was also submitted in this regard to the Chief Justice of India.
