Despite the impressive economic growth, India has not led to a reduction in under-nutrition among its children. The Economic growth in India is largely driven by the service and technology sector, benefiting mostly the ‘privileged section’ of the country. However, the majority of the population is engaged in farming or manufacturing.
A study at Harvard said the government should use its growing revenues for direct investments in aid like food stamps to address the problem. So the so-called economic growth and development is confined to a minority of people who live a lavish life while a large chunk of people including the children go under nutrition. It is high time the government rose up and proved its worth for every section of the society, otherwise, the common man will have to face a tough time ahead.
