This refers to the ‘Containing Dowry and Alcoholism’ in Radiance (26 Jan-1 Feb). I think the decision of Ulema in Bihar is a welcome step. In fact such stringent actions are need of the hour to put bridle on rampant social evils. The writer says that a Muslim should fight all his enemies at the same time. Sometimes a small step makes some big difference. Besides, taking on all the enemies at the same time might diminish one’s passion and zeal. In the last paragraph, the writer has rightly suggested that one should envisage the scenario in which the sinners themselves approach the courts and confess their sins before it. It is really a dream of one and all but how to make it possible is a big question.
