Barack Obama’s speech in Prague promising some concrete steps towards abolition of nuclear weapons comes as a whiff of fresh air.  True to the dictum – charity should begin at home; the U.S. should roll back its project work on the dreaded Reliable Replacement Warhead variety.  At the same time, the U.S. should take the lead in the U.N. for relinquishing the arbitrary right of the five permanent members to possess nuclear arsenal.  Belligerent states like North Korea and Iran which are pursuing nuclear ambitions can be arm-twisted, if the rules of the game are the same to all the nations. Only then, countries like India, Pakistan and Israel can be forced to sign the CTBT.
