Hardly six months ago, no one thought that a party with its mere one-and-a-half year political age could rule the capital of a nation which itself has been emerging and viewed as a threat to most developed nations. AAP’s rise can act as mechanism to introduce a new political privilege that rules India and change its political culture. If AAP can deliver tangible changes in services of the government, it is bound to come back as a single majority party. It will be able to convince public that they stand by their promises and they are capable of ruling though their confrontation is with the most established political players. It’s time for AAP to formulate its national agenda to reform the political system that might address the aspirations of young India. However, whatever may be the outcome, unquestionably AAP has forced these political bigwigs to think that the time has come to rise above old issues like secularism or polarisation and has to work practically and purely in the interest of the common man.
