The impressive debut of AAP in Delhi polls displays that the common man of India is now more interested to put their trust on Gen-X politics. The poll results display that the AAP vote has cut across different sections of societies. The real significance of its rise simply lies in the challenge that it has put forward against the most powerful political outfits in the country. Anti-corruption movement being its root cause of coming into the main political scenario, AAP has turned this into a battle against the corrupt political system.
Not just this, the campaign of AAP election showcases a feature for financial and political transparency. For the first time in the Indian history, a political party collected white and ethical money for politics, made full revelation of all forms of donations received, and refused to take any more donations once they met the target that it had set. It also issued manifestos for every single constituency and restored the culture of door to door canvassing. The record turnout in this assembly election and the popular support for a new political outfit indeed show a path for the beginning of a new political era in India.
