A case has been filed against former Deputy Prime Minister and senior BJP leader L.K. Advani for allegedly insulting the national flag on the occasion of release of Hindi version of his book My Country My Life on June 30.

Rajkumar Pandey, lawyer of the petitioner Shahidul Rehman, said the case filed before the chief judicial magistrate Ajay Srivastava, says that as per the Constitution, commercialisation of national flag is not allowed, no words can be printed on it, it cannot be used to decorate tables of guests and dignitaries on the dais nor can it be spread on floors. The petition argued that the cover of Advani’s book has the tricolour in its background.
