The All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat, on 27 June, donated Rs One lakh to the Prime Minister’s national relief fund for rehabilitation and relief work of Uttarakhand flood victims. Dr Zafarul-Islam Khan, President of AIMMM, has also appealed to the Muslim organisations, NGOs and individuals to come forward and offer all possible relief help in this hour of need of our “brethren and sisters” affected by the natural calamity in Uttarakhand. Dr Khan expressed satisfaction that a number of Muslim organisations including Jamaat-e Islami Hind and Jamiat Ulema Hind have already started relief work in Uttarakhand and that Muslims from across the country are sending relief material and assistance for the victims.
