The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has urged Centre and the CBI to expedite process in bringing to book Lal Krishna Advani and Bal Thackeray in connection with the Babri Masjid demolition case. The AIMPLB, under chairmanship of Maulana Rabe Hasan Nadvi, in its two-day meeting discussed various issues, including verdict of Allahabad HC, report of Justice Liberhan Commission, etc., pertaining to Muslims among others. The meeting attended by about 200 Islamic scholars, academicians and religious figures, including 51 executive members of the Board, concluded on April 25 with a public meeting. Abdul Raheem Qureshi, assistant general secretary, AIMPLB said the Board has engaged four senior lawyers to represent the Babri mosque demolition case. According to Abdur Rahim Quraishi, the General Secretary of AIMPLB, the board has decided to spend Rs 12 crores for Babri Masjid legal procedure in Supreme Court.
