The president of the AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front) and Lok Sabha MP from Dhubri, Assam, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal has strongly condemned the recent violence of the extremist RSS workers at a news channel in Delhi and called it an attack on the freedom of the press and an attempt to pollute the atmosphere.
“In recent times some of the terrorist attacks were shown by the investigative agencies to be linked with the extremist elements of the RSS and its cohorts. When the media tried to depict their wrongdoings they resorted to unnecessary violence,” said AIUDF in a statement.
Maulana Ajmal also clarified that in a secular and democratic country everyone has the right to air his views peacefully but no one has the right to disturb peace and rent the democratic fabric of the country. “So we demand that the government take a serious view of the matter and after identifying the culprits give them severe punishment so that no one dares to take such steps again. The protection of the media and its outlets is the responsibility of the government and the police there should not play laxity in upholding the rule of law,” said Assam MP Ajmal.
Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) has also condemned the barbaric attack by Sangh Parivar goons on the offices of Headlines Today and Aaj Tak.
In a statement released on July 17, TMMK president M.H.Jawahirullah said, “The attack further strengthens the available evidence on the role of Sangh Parivar terrorists in various bomb blasts that rocked the nation. The fact that Sangh Parivar could not resort to legal means to redress any grievance resulting out of the latest Headlines Today expose on its role in terror activities only proves that it wants to thwart any future attempt by the media to expose its nefarious role.
“Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam appreciates Headlines Today for its courageous role in informing the nation the dreadful activities of the Sangh Parivar in terror activities. We urge the Central Government to provide protection to the Media and its personnel who while carrying out their legitimate activities are being attacked at regular intervals by the Sangh Parivar cohorts.”
In a separate statement issued on July 17 Bharat Bachao Andolan said, “The revelations on the Headlines News channel are cause for deep concern for the long term security of our nation. It is more than clear that members of the RSS themselves are linked to the various acts of terror.
“The tapes which are being aired clearly prove the complicity of BL Sharma (Prem Singh Sher) who is a former BJP legislature. He is on camera discussing the terror attacks with Lt. Col. Purohit and Bhai Dalvi (from Maharashtra). Their plan is to create an underground terror organisation, which they did establish, namely the Abhinav Bharat. Their nefarious plan was to engineer a series of coordinated terror attacks across the length and breadth of the country, during Friday prayers, killing thousands and lakhs of Muslims. The motive is to instil deep fear within the Muslim masses and thus induce mass conversion back to Hinduism. Col. Purohit reiterates that he opposes the Indian Constitution. BL Sharma calls for an all out war against the Indian Muslim community.
“Thus this is a deep seated subversive conspiracy, meant to weaken and thus demolish the very foundations of Indian Republican Democracy, based on the principles of Secularism, Equality and Social Justice….
“It is clear that sections of the top leadership of the Sangh Parivar, which includes the RSS, the BJP as well as the VHP were all aware of the conspiracy of terror.
“We thus demand that the RSS based terror networks be investigated and banned after being found guilty, as clearly the RSS is a threat to our nation.
“We thus appeal to the Central Government to live by its oath to defend the Indian Constitution and the sovereignty of our nation.”
